What is HVAC?
HVAC is an acronym that stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. The term HVAC is used to describe the complete comfort system that can be used to heat and cool your home, as well as to provide improved indoor air quality in the process. HVAC can be easily confused with the term AC, but AC simply refers to air conditioning on its own, while HVAC refers to the broader system (which may or may not include an air conditioning unit.)
HVAC System includes (in condominiums)
Bathroom Exhaust which may or may not be integrated into a ERV or HRV unit
Dryer Exhaust (external lint trap and booster fan)
Kitchen Exhaust
Fan coil or Heat pump providing Heating, Cooling and Filtration to indoor air
Building Make Up Air system (fresh air brought into the hallways to “make up” removed air from exhaust fans and provides positive pressure to prevent transfer of odors from suite to suite among other more complicated reasons beyond this explanation :) **Do not install door sweeps or seals .
